The European Movement UK is a people-powered movement. At its heart is a network of local groups who take to the streets regularly to take our national campaigns to communities across the UK, and to take part in their own local campaigns.

This page tells you more about them, what activities they take part in, and how you can get involved in your local community.

Who are the local groups?

Local groups are ordinary people just like you. They're people who are passionate about our movement and who want to be part of our campaign to take the UK back to the heart of Europe.

Young and old, newcomer or experienced campaigner, our local groups include everybody from students to retired professionals, doctors to elected officials, teachers to farmers, and everybody in between. They include people of all parties and none, and are open to anybody who aligns with the values of the movement.

What do local groups do?

Each local group is independent, and they take part in campaign activities that make sense in their local area. This includes our national campaigns, but also local issue campaigns affecting people in their local community.

Campaigning can include street stalls, door knocking, engaging with local businesses, lobbying MPs, holding communities, and much more.

You can see some photos of local groups in action at the bottom of this page, and read more in the Grassroots Showcase section of the Grassroots Hub.

I've never campaigned before. Can I still help?

Of course! Local groups, and indeed our entire movement, is open to everybody whether you are a newcomer or an experienced campaigner. As long as you share our passion and values, you are welcome to get as involved in the movement as you feel comfortable.

In fact, for many people, getting involved in their local group was their first experience of campaigning. But many of those people have been members of their local group for years, so you will be in good hands!

Sounds great, how do I find my local group?
